As we continue to expand our team, we are seeking a talented and motivated BIM Technician here in our Milwaukee office to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Job Summary:
As a BIM Technician, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of BIM processes throughout various stages of our projects. Working closely with project teams, your expertise will be instrumental in optimizing the virtual design and construction (VDC) workflow, ensuring smooth coordination, and enhancing project efficiency.
Responsibilities may include:
- BIM Modeling: Develop detailed 3D BIM models using software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or similar platforms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
- Detailing Drawings: Create detailed drawings derived from BIM models, including architectural, structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and contractor drawings, to facilitate construction documentation.
- Reality Capture: Utilize reality capture technologies such as laser scanning or photogrammetry to capture existing site conditions accurately, integrating real-world data into BIM models for renovation or retrofit projects.
- On-Site Data Capture: Conduct site visits to capture as-built conditions, verifying and updating BIM models accordingly to ensure alignment with actual construction progress.
- Quality Control: Perform rigorous quality checks on BIM models and associated drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Coordination: Collaborate with various project stakeholders to coordinate MEP, architectural, and structural systems within the BIM environment, identifying and resolving clashes to optimize project workflows.
- Visualization: Generate renderings, animations, and other visualizations from BIM models to aid in design reviews, presentations, and client communication.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to project teams on BIM software usage, workflows, and best practices, ensuring smooth adoption and integration of BIM technology.
- Innovation: Stay updated on emerging BIM technologies and industry trends, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM processes within the organization.
- Detailing and Documentation: Develop and produce detailed construction drawings and documentation based on BIM models. Ensure that drawings adhere to industry standards and project specifications, including dimensioning, annotations, and other relevant details.
- Software Proficiency: Stay up to date with the latest BIM software and tools, and continuously improve proficiency in their usage. Train and assist team members in using BIM software to ensure a consistent and efficient workflow.
- Deadline Management: Prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet project deadlines. Communicate any challenges or delays to project managers and collaborate on solutions to ensure timely completion.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of building construction principles and techniques.
- Experience in detailing drawings for architectural, structural, MEP, or contractor disciplines.
- Familiarity with reality capture technologies and on-site data capture processes.
