Managing & Implementation

We make sure to get it right.

BIMTM is your partner for optimizing your BIM management and handling everything a BIM manager would handle. This important role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining all of your processes, procedures, workflows, and tools. We make sure to get it right.

BIM STANDARDS

What are BIM Department Standards?

BIM department standards help bring continuity and structure to your program. High BIM department standards regulate everything from the way information is transferred to how the drawings should look and even what scale they should be. They also govern how quality control is executed, how files are named, and where files are stored.

Why Are BIM Standards Needed?

Everyone likes to do things their own ways, but creating a repeatable process will elevate your BIM team to the next level. Taking the guess work out of how things are done or who is doing them allows us to spend more time on what we should really be focusing on.

How BIMTM Can Help

Whether you are a new company implementing a BIM department for the first time, or an established company that needs fresh thinking and new perspectives, BIMTIM is here to help you develop standards, test them, and correctly implement them so you can get more work done.

Software and License Management

BIM management is about more than people and processes. We provide a full range of assistance to help you select the right software, stay current on the latest updates and patches, renew when the time comes, and assign licenses. Don’t underestimate how complicated software management can be — let us help you maintain it so you can focus on core objectives.

BIM Documentation

Your standards are only as good as your documentation to back them up

We know full well that your standards are only as good as your documentation. We can help you develop your workflows, checklists, reference guides, catalogs, and any other BIM documentation that your team and your projects need.

Content Management

You could have great content, but if you can’t find it easily, it won’t be used properly — and may not be used at all. Once all of this great BIM content is created, we make sure your team can find it. We develop and maintain your content libraries containing Revit families, standard detail, templates, and more. Plus, we make sure that everyone has the latest versions at their fingertips and knows how to sign in, open, and get to work. Whether you are using a local network or pulling everything down from the cloud, we make it all easy to find.

BIM Department Implementation

How you go about implementing BIM could be just as important as the tools and people involved in making BIM happen. Do it wrong, and you could be looking at costly consequences. Doing it right, and creating a BIM roadmap with realistic expectations that leadership supports, is the first step in BIM Program success.

Ideation

Pre-planning is key to successfully building a BIM department that fits the needs of your company. After brainstorming with your team, we create a BIM roadmap that meets your end goals. We then take that roadmap to create a strategy, realistic expectations, and an estimated timeline.

Creation

After finalizing the BIM roadmap and developing a strategy, we get to work. We learn everything necessary about your company and tailor the BIM content to your needs. In this phase, we develop custom content, establish workflows, create processes and procedures, and develop all of the documentation needed to back it all up.

Testing

Testing is usually the most important step of BIM implementation since it allows all stakeholders to identify any problem areas before embarking on a full rollout. We first internally test the content and solicit feedback from team members, and then identify pilot projects that can be tested. Finally, once we have made all of the needed tweaks and proved the content, we embark on a full rollout.

Growth

Once your base BIM department is established, it is time to build your team. We help you identify good candidates, train them, and then step back to support operations as team members learn their roles and grow. Plus, we are on hand to answer any questions, troubleshoot any problems, and even modify content — whatever you need, we have got your back!
